Dear customer,

As there has been a massive price increase at our supplier for toll boxes, but we want to maintain the current price level for you, we are changing our supplier. 

For this reason your current toll box for cars and vehicles up to 3 metres high must be replacedUntil you receive the new toll box, you can continue to use the current toll box as usual. 

The reliability of the new toll box will be even higher than with the previous model. 

There are no costs for you to replace your toll box!

Below you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Are the e-mails or the letter from maut1.de?

Yes, the emails from the sender address [email protected] with the imprint of maut1.de at the end are from us to inform you, dear customers, about the exchange campaign and to introduce you to the process in detail.

You can click on the included links without any worries, e.g. to confirm or correct your delivery address.

Thank you for being attentive and not placing your trust in every e-mail!

How does the exchange of toll boxes work? 


  1. Wir haben Ihnen eine E-Mail/Brief mit Informationen zum Austausch zugesendet
  2. You confirm whether your delivery address is current or inform us of your new address. 
  3. You remove the old toll box and send it back to us. 
  4. We will send you the new toll box  
  5. You install the new toll box in your vehicle and continue to use our toll service.

Are there any changes for cars and vehicles up to 3 metres high as a result of the replacement? 


The countries Italy (without Sicily), France, Spain (without AP-1) and Portugal remain activated for you and can be used with the toll box when travelling. 

Only the use of the toll box in Croatia and the use for booking car parks and ferries will be temporarily unavailable. 

However, we are already in close contact with the operators and the new supplier in order to reactivate Croatia and these services for you as soon as possible.

Does the new toll box have to be activated? 


No, we will automatically activate the new toll box for you and register it with the licence plate number currently stored in your customer account.

What happens if I do not wish to accept the new General Terms and Conditions? 


You like stability - so do we. We have left our General Terms and Conditions unchanged for some time now. With our new provider for the toll boxes and the upcoming change to our service offering, we have included a few new regulations and have decided to update the terms and conditions overall and make them clearer in some places. 

Equal rights for all. Of course, these regulations must be implemented equally for all customers. Here we hope for your understanding.

How can I remove the old toll box from the windscreen? 


If you want to remove the toll box from the disc, we recommend mounting it in the holder and then turning it while it is in the holder. Alternatively, you can heat the adhesive with a hairdryer until the holder comes off easily. 

Attention: Please keep the hairdryer at a sufficient distance from the windscreen and, especially if the windscreen is cold or the surroundings are cold, make sure to heat the windscreen slowly first to avoid cracks!
